The Class 4 licence in British Columbia authorizes you to operate vehicles designed for passenger transport—such as taxis, limousines, ambulances, and buses seating up to 25 people. There are two main types: Restricted (up to 10 passengers) and Unrestricted (up to 25 passengers).



To qualify, you must be at least 19 years old, hold a full-privilege Class 5 (or equivalent) licence with at least two years of driving experience, have a clean driving record with fewer than four penalty points in the last 2 years, and no relevant criminal convictions within 3 years. You will also need to pass a knowledge test, vision test, medical exam, and road test (including pre-trip inspection).
